March 15th - March 16th , 2009 - Mid-Week Fishing Report for 2 days

Although there has been considerable rain the last few days, fishing except for the Tapera has been acceptable. In only 2 days, a total of 869 fish were landed by 26 anglers: 17 fish were in the 10 - 16 lbs. class and 3 in the 17-19 lbs. class.

Water levels are almost not fishable...but the forecast are for 3-4 days of no rain so, we are not sure. If it does not to rain as forecasted by the weather officials fishing will hold to the present levels; however, guests must know upfront that continuing rain could jeopardize the week. Therefore all next week parties may elect to reschedule.

March 8th - March 9th , 2009 - Mid-Week Fishing Report for 2 days

Although rain continues, fishing with River Plate has been acceptable. In only 2 days, a total of 835 fish were landed by 25 anglers: 29 fish were in the 10 - 16 lbs. class and 7 in the 17-19 lbs. class.

Water levels  continue to be fishable in the very upper State of Roraima at very few of River Plate's low fishing pressure areas at the remote headwaters of the Tapera, and ,as of this week, the  Xeurini, and Shufaris. The exclusive Homero lagoons will be rested until next season

Therefore all next week parties must come. Water levels have dropped from 5 to 8 feet over-the-jungle line during the last few weeks to fishable levels of 1 to 2 feet.

If it continues not to rain as forecasted by the weather officials fishing will be superb; however, guests must know upfront that substantial rain could jeopardize the good trend.

Yacht anglers must know that Black Water Explorer yacht will anchor on a deep channel on the  Rio Branco where there are many "no-see thems" (small bitting insects).

We think the odds are clearly in favor of good fishing so we expect to see every body!
