Mid-Week Fishing Report: July 28 – 30, 2018 (2 ½ days)
PEACOCK BASS ON THE FLY
Last weekend we received at our Marmelos private fishery the Sullivan group, consisting of 8 fly-fishermen who are enjoying the clear waters of this river. They endured some heavy rain episodes during the weekend and the forecast shows some more tropical storms for the rest of the week, although without significant rainfall. Water levels are at an optimum level. Worth noting that not only numbers matters, fly fishermen approach the challenge and the experience with a different attitude, where other intangible factors are relevant.
The Bellamy bait casting group, ended the week with an outstanding 1.967 landed peacock bass, the largest of which was 17lbs.
Water levels are at the optimal level and keep slowly descending (see graph below – Humaita). Weather forecast confirms tendency showing some mild tropical storms with no significant rain (see forecast below – Manicore).

Water levels are still a bit too high but keep dropping nicely as expected, closed for the season, which is normal for this time of the year.
