Mid-Week Fishing Report: June 23 – 25 , 2018 (2 ½ days)
120 lbs Monster Pirarara landed at the Upper Marmelos private fishery
1.475 landed peacock bass was the final count for the Alexandre group last week, largest of which weighed 17lbs, also in the catch 9 beautiful pirararas including an outstanding trophy weighing 120lbs and measuring 4.3ft in length.
Last Saturday we received the Moreira group`s 7 anglers, and they started their week landing 543 peacock bass with 23 passing the 10lbs. mark and the largest the 16lbs. mark.
Weather conditions at our Marmelos private fishery are excellent. Water levels are a bit to high which is normal for this time of the year but fishing is still the best available in the Amazon. Trophy fish have not been larger than 17 lbs but fishing should improve.
Water levels are 2.0 ft. above optimal level and dropping (see graph below – Humaita). Weather forecast confirms tendency showing no significant rain episodes (see report below – Manicore – Alegrete station).

NOTE that the yellow area at the North affecting the Amazon basin and our fisheries makes us believe that it might have a positive influence (70%) in our fisheries, averting extreme water levels for the rest of the season.
Weather forecast for Manicore – Alegrete station, in the area of influence of the Marmelos private fishery shows no significant rain episodes for the rest of the week.
