Mid-Week Fishing Report: Oct. 12 – 14, 2019 (2 ½ days)

BREAKING WATER AT THE OMERO LAKES

Week end´s tally (2 ½ days):

Note: this 2 1/2 days report is to rush last weekend’s conditions to our incoming anglers.

Matupiri fishery in Dry-Zone S. West -:   Last Saturday we received the Lico group of 12 anglers in our Floating cabins fishing the mid Matupiri.  They enjoyed good weather conditions with only one minor heavy rain episode, their fish count exceeded the 550 landed peacock bass, no significant trophies though. Rain forecast is good and dropping tendency is expected to accelerate with the good weather, water levels are still a bit high but nearing the optimum definitely very fishable.  Last week the Rizzo group anglers exceeded the 100 landed peacock bas per angler in the week.

Roçado fishery in Dry-Zone N. West -: This fishery is in standby status for this week, this week anglers were redirected to Dry Zone N.East. Last week the Lyle group, landed 5 trophies above the 20lbs mark, though they endured heavy rains episodes throughout the week. Water levels reverted the dropping tendency, forecast is improving and river is expected to resume the dropping tendency in the next days.

Omero lakes in Dry-Zone N. East -:   This week after scouting the area we have moved our Floating Suites Nr.3 to the Omero Lakes fishery that present excellent fishing conditions, proving one more time the importance of being able to offer the best available waters in the basin to our visiting anglers, having several private water options to choose from. The Crossland group arrived last Saturday and had an excellent start with 752 landed peacocks within a mixed bag of species including aruanas, pirarucus, etc. Fine weather and good water levels expected in the coming days.

Water levels in Dry-Zone N.West at our Roçado private fishery are a bit high and have reverted the dropping tendency after 10 days of heavy rain episodes, it is expected to resume dropping next week when the weather conditions are forecasted to improve.

The Omero lakes in Dry-Zone N.East present excellent fishing conditions and are expected to continue doing so in the coming weeks.

Water level measurements at the Humaitá station continue to be within the historical parameters as the Itacoatiara station (see below). The Matupiri river is located between both stations. Please see red circle in stations map above.

Note: red line are 2019 water levels, the light blue strip is the 15 to 85% probability, the dotted line is the median and the yellow line is the historic minimum

Water level measurements at the Tapurucuara station (see below) continue to be within the historical parameters as the Tapurucuara station (see below). The Roçado fishery drains directly at this station thus, lower water levels imply that drain tendency should continue after the rain episodes. Please see red circle in stations map above.

Note: red line are 2019 water levels, the light blue strip is the 15 to 85% probability, the dotted line is the median and the yellow line is the historic minimum

Water level measurements at the Caracarai station (see below) are within the historical parameters . The Omero lakes fishery is down river from this station at the Branco basin, water levels are excellent at this time. Please see blue circle in stations map above.
