Catching the arapaima, also known as the pirarucu, offers a unique experience for all anglers. Known to reach some 400 pounds, arapaima are among the largest freshwater fish in the world.

Although guests sometimes catch specimens up to about 60 pounds in the same areas where we target peacock bass, your best shot at a trophy fish of 100 – 200 pounds is in our private lagoons near Manaus.

The 1-Day Arapaima Extension offers anglers the opportunity to fish those lagoons for a day after returning to Manaus at the end of their week in the Amazon. You’ll be picked up from your hotel in the morning for the approximately one-hour drive to the lagoons. You’ll fish all morning and all afternoon with a family-style lunch, then return to you hotel late in the afternoon and depart for home at night.
