Precipitation Anomalies Across The Amazon Basin
Eight River Trains are concentrated in the North East
STATS: Despite the many river basins River Plate controls across 1000 miles by 500 miles it has been difficult to maintain our high expected fishing standards during the last 3 weeks. Typically, a party of 8 anglers would catch 800 to 1500 peacocks or more with 4% of fish over 10 lbs plus many +20lbs trophies along with a multifarious array of tropical fish but, it all dropped to 1/5 of these amounts due to high water during the current precipitation anomaly.

The Macek party returned for their third year in a row, and rising waters was not a deterrence; they were rewarded with some truly impressive fish during one of the season’s toughest weeks.
RAINFALL GUESSWORK: We are publishing this report well before the New Years to inform our incoming parties on January 3rd what to expect.
Our water-level predictions are not just based on immediate rainfall forecasts but also on longer term (3-month) forecasts for unusual (or what is called anomalous) rainfall across all of our fishing zones. (see map below)

In the above map, the areas with higher than expected rainfall are in blue. No unusual rainfall is expected in the white areas for the next 3 months but, these are currently with very high water as is expected this time of the year.
We have eight River Trains at the North East Dry Zone marked in green in the above map, with water levels at the jungle-line threshold as shown in the design below.

As evidenced by our map below, water levels may continue rising even in the 6 rivers we control in the North East Zone marked in green, which is 700 miles north of the Dry Zones we were fishing 3 months ago.

A 7-Day Forecast for more than 2 inches of rain means water levels may rise; under 2 inches means that water levels may drop. Across most of the Amazon rainfall forecast is well above the mentioned 2 inches, but since the North East Zone marked in green is just at 2 inches (see blue in map), we might stand a fighting chance!
