Mid-Week Fishing Report: October 27 – 29, 2018 (2 ½ days).
SIMPLY PERFECT !
Last week´s tally ( 6 1/2 days): The Kejoe group last week at our Roçado private fishery on the upper Uneuixi Indian Reserve, ended the week with a 483 landed peacock bass with 7 trophies above the 20lbs mark, and the largest of which was 23lbs. (see gallery).
Week end´s tally (2 ½ days): Last Saturday we received the Alex group of 8 at the Roçado private fishery in Dry-Zone N.West, their trophy count for these 2 1/2 days in lbs. was: 2 x 20, 1 x 19, 3 x 18. Although they endured some heavy rain episodes, rainfall forecast shows that conditions should improve as of today.
We also received the Oleg group of 7 that broke waters at the Omero lakes in the Branco basin where fishing conditions are now very good. They have landed 261 peacock bass during the weekend, plus several aruanas, tambaqui and pirarucus that challenged our guests skills and tackle.

Guess work
Water levels keep dropping on the Negro River in the Santa Isabel area (Tapurucuara – see graph below).Something similar happens lower on the Negro in the Barcelos area. Rainfall is compensating the drainage. Therefore Roçado fishery is expected to maintain stable excellent fishing conditions in the coming week.
NOTE the red line are 2018 water levels, the light blue strip is the 15 to 85% probability, the dotted line is the median and the yellow line is the historic 1980 minimum, which indicates that today´s lower water levels should have occurred earlier .
Also the Barcelos water level report, near the Omero lakes fishery and further downriver from Tapuruquara confirms our predictions. Omero lakes present water levels a bit above the jungle level, but are dropping as expected.

Weather forecast for Santa Isabel, in the area of influence of the Roçado private fishery shows some rain episodes (just normal tropical showers) for the rest of the week, supporting the expected water level stabilization. Something similar is also happening with the Omero lakes fishery also in same Dry-Zone where we started operating.
Furthemore precipitation forecasts for the coming days as compared with the historical norm, confirms our expectations of having a normal season without extreme conditions.
