Mid Week Fishing Report: November 28th-29th, 2020 (1 ½ days)
GOOD FISHING DESPITE TROPICAL RAIN
Jufaris River (mid/high) in Dry Zone N. East: The Adilson group of 6 anglers landed 183 fish. We saw intense rains in this area, leading to increasing water levels.
Curiucu River in Dry Zone N. East: The Leite group of 6 anglers caught 247 fish, with the largest being 15 pounds. This area also saw high and increasing water levels.
Xeurini River in Dry Zone N. West: The Fonseca group of 6 anglers caught 93 fish. This region saw moderate rains, which also led to increasing water levels.
Water Level Report
Dry Zone N. East: Higher Rainfall than predicted, leading to rising water level. However, fishing has been very good in this area for the last 5 consecutive weeks.
Dry Zone N. West: As predicted in our previous report water levels in the Negro river and its southern tributaries have continued to drop, and these tributaries are now very fishable. We have moved two of our stand-by operations into this area, with one operation already fishing the lower Jufaris. This private river has bigger fish. The rain forecast over the next seven days in the nearby town of Barcelos (see below) is below average for this time of the year, which means water levels should continue to drop.
Dry Zone S. East: Water levels in this area 150 miles south of Manaus are high, which is normal for this time of the year. Our private rivers in this area during the Dry Zone period of August-October were closed due to Covid.
Dry Zone S. West: Water levels in this area 450 miles south of Manaus are high, which is normal for this time of the year. Our private rivers in this area during the Dry Zone period of June-August were closed due to Covid.
