ALMOST 10% OF PEACOCKS WERE OVER 10LBS ON THE OMERO LAKES

Weekend's Tally (only 2 ½ days) Note: This 2 ½ days report is to rush last weekend's conditions to our incoming anglers.   Jufaris River (Mid/High) in Dry Season-Zone N. East: The Palhares group of 8 anglers caught 165 fish. Water levels in this Season-Zone are high but should start to fall according to the 10-day rainfall forecast (see below). Last week’s party of 6 anglers landed 736 peacocks during the full 6 days of fishing.   Curiucu River in Dry Season-Zone N. East: The Mauricio group of 6 anglers landed 307 fish with as many as 20 peacocks over 10 lbs, including a 19 pounder. Water levels in this region are higher than ideal, but have lowered over the week. Last week’s party of 6 anglers landed 907 peacocks during the whole 6 day period, which is very good considering the high water levels.

Water Level Report   Dry Season-Zone N. East: Fishing has been very good for the last 7 consecutive weeks, despite water level being a bit higher than expected for this time of the year.   Dry Season-Zone N. West: As predicted in our previous report water levels in the Negro river and its southern tributaries have continued to drop, and as such we have moved two of our stand-by operations into this area, with one operation already fishing the lower Jufaris this week. In the nearby town of Barcelos, the accumulated 10-day rainfall forecast (see below) is less than 2 inches, which is below average for this time of the year, indicating that water levels should continue to drop.   Dry Season-Zone S. East: Water levels in this area 150 miles south of Manaus are high, which is normal for this time of the year.   Dry Season-Zone S. West: Water levels in this area 450 miles south of Manaus are high, which is normal for this time of the year.
