Mid-Week Fishing Report: Feb. 02 – 04, 2019 (2 ½ days)
FISHING NOW AT THE ITAPARÁ, JUFARIS, KABORI, XERUINI PRIVATE FISHERIES


Week end´s tally (2 ½ days):
Note: this 2 1/2 days report is to rush last weekend’s conditions to our incoming anglers.
Kabori fishery in Dry-Zone N. East -: Last week the Shutt group finalized with a 1.214 landed peacocks count, largest of which weighed 18lbs. Last Saturday the small and quaint Coser group arrived and in just 2 1/2 days landed 163 peacock bass. Water levels are a bit below the ideal and dropping, fishing conditions are expected to be good in the coming days. Upper -Xeruini fishery in Dry-Zone N. East -: The Miller group had a good start with a nice size mix in the bag. Best working reported lures are perversas, joao pepino, propellers and jigs. Levels are dropping and weather forecast confirms the tendency. Itapará river in Dry-Zone N. East – : Last week just 4 anglers in the Sylvara group landed an outstanding basket of trophies with three 19 pounders, three weighing 18 lbs and four 17lbs, other 88 were above the 8 lbs. mark. Last weekend under heavy rain conditions the Brasher group had a great start with 303 landed peacock bass, largest of which weighed 18 lbs. Upper Jufaris in Dry-Zone N.East – : Our single occupancy suites received last Saturday 7 anglers in the Alaimo group.They started with 226 landed peacock bass, the largest of which weighed over 16lbs. Camp reports that locally tied jigs were still the stars this weekend and they also have some fly fishermen in the group. Good fishing conditions are expected to continue in the coming days.

Water levels are slowly dropping in our fisheries in the Dry-Zone N.East. The Kabori and Upper Jufaris are a bit below the perfect level and the Itapará has is stable at the ideal point. Practically nil rainfall forecast for Rorainopolis in the area of influence of the Itapara confirms this tendency. All fisheries are expected to maintain good fishing conditions in the coming week.
Blue dots represent water level monitoring stations where levels are rising and yellow dots where levels are dropping. Our area of interest is between Barcelos and Caracarai.

Above the rainfall forecast for Barcelos in the area of influence of the Jufaris and Kabori, below Rorainopolis in the area of influence of the Itapará river, both confirming that the dropping tendency continues in the coming days.

WATER LEVELS STILL DROPPING IN THE BRANCO / NEGRO BASIN – GOOD FISHING !

Kabori fishery in Dry-Zone N. East -: Last week the Kuipers group of 8 anglers broke the 2K mark and ended the week with a 2.059 peacocks in the basket. Last Saturday the Shutt group arrived and in just 2 1/2 days landed 676 peacock bass, all fly fishermen in the group. Water levels are a bit below the ideal and dropping, fishing conditions are expected to be good in the coming days. Mid -Xeruini fishery in Dry-Zone N. East -: Last week, the Thigpen group landed the first 19 pounder, the second one was landed by the White group at the Itapará. The Cofer group had a good start with a nice size mix in the bag. Levels are dropping and weather forecast confirms the tendency. Itapará river in Dry-Zone N. East – : Just 4 anglers in the Sylvara group have the camp and the river to themselves, 174 landed peacock bass is their mark for the weekend, fishing conditions are really good and water level is at an ideal point, no rainfall in the horizon. Upper Jufaris in Dry-Zone N.East – : Our single occupancy suites received last Saturday 5 anglers in the Osborne group.They jump started with 270 landed peacock bass, the largest of which weighed over 17lbs. Camp reports that locally tied jigs were the stars this weekend. Good fishing conditions are expected to continue in the coming days.

2019 BENCHMARK : 19 LBS PEACOCK BASS


Week end´s tally (2 ½ days):
Note: this 2 1/2 days report is to rush last weekend’s conditions to our incoming anglers.
Kabori fishery in Dry-Zone N. East -: The Kuipers group of 8 anglers arrived on Saturday landing 755 peacock bass in just 2 1/2 days. Last weeks final count was 1.968 by the Rankin group. Best performing lures are propellers and top water lures. Water levels are still a bit below the ideal mark but stable, fishing results continue to be solid. Mid -Xeruini fishery in Dry-Zone N. East -: The Thigpen group has landed this year´s benchmark of 19 lbs this weekend. Water levels are very fishable and expected to drop slowly. Itapará river in Dry-Zone N. East – : Received the White group of 6, started the week landing 223 peacock bass. Last week´s final count was 1.450 peacock bass with 5 trophies above the 17lbs mark. Water levels are still a bit above the ideal but they keep dropping, weather forecast supports the tendency. Upper Jufaris in Dry-Zone N.East – : Our single occupancy suites received last Saturday the Ledet group of 4 anglers, under excellent fishing conditions they started with a 198 peacock bass basket with a good size mix. Star lures are perversas and joao pepinos. Good fishing conditions are expected in the coming days.

Water levels continue to be stable and slightly dropping in our fisheries in the Dry-Zone N.East. The Kabori and Upper Jufaris are a bit below the perfect level and the Itapará is a bit above it, where levels are dropping faster. Rainfall forecast for Rorainopolis in the area of influence of the Itapara definitely confirms this tendency. All fisheries are expected to maintain good fishing conditions in the coming weeks.
