MID-WEEK FISHING REPORT: JAN 13 – 15, 2018 (2 ½ DAYS)

PRIVATE FISHERIES IN DRY-ZONE N.EAST PRESENTING PERFECT FISHING CONDITIONS

Please note that the 2 1/2 days is to promptly report last weekend prevailing conditions to our incoming anglers.

  Dry-Zone N.East is presenting excellent fishing conditions in all our private fisheries. Anglers enjoyed a great weekend with solid yields as the table above shows. Worth mentioning the other species caught at the foot of the table, since some outstanding specimens of these species were joyfully landed. Last week a total of 34 anglers landed 5.104 peacock bass in our private fisheries with two trophies above the 20 lbs mark plus a wild assortment of other species. The Branco river basin is in its turning point and will probably start to rise shortly. The Negro basin has been affected by more rain and is rising already. Rainfall forecast for the coming weeks is above average and might accelerate the water cycle.

Water levels are high, closed for the season, which is normal for this time of the year.
 Dry-Zone S.West 
Water levels are high,  closed for the season, which is normal for this time of the year. (beige in map above) Dry-Zone N.West
Water levels are about 1.0ft. above jungle level and rising. The Negro influence is being felt in the lower sectors of the Xeruini and Jufaris, camps have moved upriver. Some moderate rain is expected in the coming days.
Dry-Zone N.East
Water levels are about 1.0 ft below jungle level and rising. Fishing conditions are excellent. Moderate rain is expected for the rest of the week (see water level sketch below)
NOTE that the green area at the North affecting the Amazon basin and our fisheries is now darker, this makes us believe that it might have a positive influence (70%) in our fisheries, averting extreme low water levels as we had last season.

2018 FULL STEAM START WITH PERFECT FISHING CONDITIONS

34 anglers fishing this week at our Jufaris, Xeruini and Itapará private fisheries. Some of them taking it easy and enjoying the jungle experience and amenities. Excellent fishing conditions, and excellent forecast for the rest of the week in all fisheries. Lots of top water action and some beautiful aruanas at the upper Jufaris.

Water levels are high, closed for the season, which is normal for this time of the year.
 Dry-Zone S.West 
Water levels are high,  closed for the season, which is normal for this time of the year. Dry-Zone N.West
Water levels are about 1.0ft. below jungle level and are slowly rising. Jufaris and Xeruini private fisheries are presenting excellent fishing conditions for the rest of the week. No significant rain is expected in the coming days.

Water levels are about 1.5ft. below jungle level and rising. Fishing conditions are excellent. No significant rain is expected for the rest of the week.

MID-WEEK FISHING REPORT: DEC. 30 – JAN 06, 2018 (2 ½ DAYS)

CELEBRATING THE NEW YEAR IN THE JUNGLE

 

  Last Saturday 30th, we received in two Fly-in Floating Suites two groups totaling 14 anglers who decided to start 2018 in the quiet of the jungle, just fishing. They headed to the headwaters of the Jufaris and Xeruini rivers. They obtained good yields of up to more than 100 landed peacock bass per boat per day (see table above) but perhaps due to some heavy rain episodes only very few trophies. Rain is expected to stop today and the forecast for the rest of the week is excellent. Water levels are about 2ft below jungle level and are slowly starting to rise. The Indirei group arriving today for a short week will enjoy perfect fishing conditions.

Water levels are about 1.5ft. below jungle level and have started slowly to rise. Jufaris and Xeruini private fisheries are presenting excellent fishing conditions for the rest of the week. No significant rain episodes are expected in the coming days.
Dry-Zone N.East
Water levels are about 2ft. below jungle level and rising. Fishing conditions are excellent. Heavy rain episodes are expected to stop today and no significant rain is expected for the rest of the week.
NOTE that the green area at the North affecting the Amazon basin and our fisheries is now darker, this makes us believe that it might have a positive influence (65%) in our fisheries, averting extreme low water levels as we had last season.
