Mid-Week Fishing Report: June 30 – July 02 , 2018 (2 ½ days)

Marmelos private fishery: 8 anglers, 2 ½ days, 1.002 landed peacock bass !

Last weekend we received in our Marmelos private fishery, the Matos group (8 anglers) which had an outstanding start with 1.002 landed peacock bass in just 2 1/2 days. The largest weighing 16 lbs and also in the bag some exotic matrinxas. Previous week final count was 1.989 peacock bass the largest of which was a bit shy of 18lbs. Fishing conditions keep improving. Water levels dropping normally, and weather forecast is excellent.

Dry-Zone S.East 
Water levels are 1.8 ft. above optimal level and dropping (see graph below - Humaita). Weather forecast confirms tendency showing no significant rain episodes (see forecast below - Manicore).
NOTE that the yellow area at the North affecting the Amazon basin and our fisheries makes us believe that it might have a positive influence (70%) in our fisheries, averting extreme water levels for the rest of the season.

Mid-Week Fishing Report: June 23 – 25 , 2018 (2 ½ days)

120 lbs Monster Pirarara landed at the Upper Marmelos private fishery

1.475 landed peacock bass was the final count for the Alexandre group last week, largest of which weighed 17lbs, also in the catch 9 beautiful pirararas including an outstanding trophy weighing 120lbs and measuring 4.3ft in length. Last Saturday we received the Moreira group`s 7 anglers, and they started their week landing 543 peacock bass with 23 passing the 10lbs. mark and the largest the 16lbs. mark. Weather conditions at our Marmelos private fishery are excellent. Water levels are a bit to high  which is normal for this time of the year but fishing is still the best available in the Amazon. Trophy fish have not  been larger than 17 lbs but fishing should improve.

Water levels are 2.0 ft. above optimal level and dropping (see graph below - Humaita). Weather forecast confirms tendency showing no significant rain episodes (see report below - Manicore - Alegrete station).

Mid-Week Fishing Report: June 16 – 18 , 2018 (2 ½ days)

UPPER MARMELOS ANGLERS BLISS

Last Saturday we received the Dick group a our Marmelos private fishery, and they had an excellent start landing 627 peacock bass and also 4 beautiful pirararas (red tails). Last week´s group ended the week with a total count of 1.141 peacock bass and until now the largest one weighed 17lbs. Fishing conditions are good, waters levels are receding as expected and weather forecast is fine for the rest of the week.

Water levels are 2.5 ft. above optimal level and dropping (see graph below - Humaita). Weather forecast confirms tendency showing no significant rain episodes (see report below - Manicore).
